Great flat with the supermarket and the ski hire shop next to the building (10 meters).Flat was clean and modern. Not sure why some customers were complaining in previous reviews.The service provided by the entire team was excellent from the booking to the departure.The main swimming pool/main sauna/main Jacuzzi/main steam room get busy after 5PM.However, there is a smaller facility within the building with a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room available where things are quieter for adults. This is great after a full day on the slopes.The ski room (locker) is heated. It means that every morning, your boots are dry and very warm.The ski-out is not great if you need to reach the E.S.F. first thing the morning (chairlift not opening on time to reach the school). In that case, you need to walk 100 meters down by the main road with your skis.The ski-in can be challenging for a beginner as you need to ski down a narrow 50 meters 'red wall'.If you don't need to reach the school first thing and if you are an experienced skier, it is a true ski-out and ski-in location.Les 'balcons' are on top of Val Thorens, 5 or 10 minutes from all the action (main bars and restaurants)

We were pleasantly suprised buy the service and presentation of the appartment and would very much be likely to return again. The rooms were clean and tidy and all the possible requirements were available in the appartment. We particularily liked the availability of patissaries being delivered in the morning. We unfortunatly did not have time to try the spa. Two negatives of note was that the shower was completly under powered and was unpleasant to use and there was no plug in the bath, although we were given a make do plug when asked.

Have stayed at this residence a number of times and always have an excellent experience. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, staff are extremely helpful, welcoming and very professional; they are always happy to help. Car park easy to access with plenty of room to manoeuvre. Pre-registration via the app really simple and communication with the residence is easy, with responses always very timely. Thoroughly recommend this residence.

Superb Residence Have stayed at this residence a number of times and always have an excellent experience. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, staff are extremely helpful, welcoming and very professional; they are always happy to help. Car park easy to access with plenty of room to manoeuvre. Les Balcones Platinum was truly the best place I could've ever imagined for staying in Val Thorens. This is my 4th time here and I just cannot describe how incredibly good it is. It is a 7 minute walk from the centre, the ski room opens directly onto the main slope, intersport and sherpa are right next to you incase you need anything extra and you also get access to the Spa! Absolutely phenomenal stay, super clean, comfy beds and so I highly recommend. Fully worth the price!

Consider it if you’re looking for:•Spacious accommodation.• A beautiful view.•Clean accommodation (although the common areas tend to be a bit unkempt)•Friendly, helpful staff.• Warm & dry accommodation.Don’t consider it if you require:• Modern high standard decor. (It’s a very old and tired place and the furniture is dated and not especially comfortable).• Super convenience to central VT.• Full ski-in ski-out.I totally agree that the words “5 star” and “Platinum” have NO place in describing this accommodation (😂), but at the same time we enjoyed it.We had a 2 bedroom apartment for a family of 4 and it was very spacious, clean, & warm, and had a wonderful view.At the same time however, the sofas and beds were a bit uncomfortable and the decor was VERY dated. The kitchen was generally fine for making basic meals (although could use another saucepan or two).Overall, if you’re not a dedicated “5 Star only” traveller and you ignore any references to this being premium accommodation then you will be satisfied with it.

Les Balcons Platinium Val Thorens was an excellent choice. The apartment was spotless, very well equipped, and offered amazing views over the Val Thorens slopes. Ski-out access was perfect and extremely convenient. The ski-back is a bit more challenging, with a few minutes’ walk to the residence, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. I really liked the location — easy access to the supermarket and ski rental made everything very convenient. Highly recommended.

The floors in the apartment were not clean enough and absolutely need floor cleaning quality improvement, the same in the corridors. No slippers were included in the apartments service so walking on not clean floors was not so pleasant. Also it was noisy outside during night period, so to have a good sleep you need earplugs.

Everything about our stay was great, as a beginner it is a little hard getting up/down to the slopes but the free bus is a huge help. A suggestion would be as self catering sometimes it’s nice to be provided a few store cupboard ingredients to save buying a full bottle of oil, salt and pepper, I hate buying these items and then being told to throw away to leave it as we received the room. It’s such a waste.

The rooms in our apartment were lovely, they could have done with some shelves ( for putting shoes , ski helmets and gloves) and some hanging in the entrance for jackets . It is a ski hotel after all. It is advertised as a ski in ski out. But it is a clamber out and trying not to break your leg on the ice while bringing your skis to where you can ski from. Every day someone fell trying to make that 30 m trip. Clearing the ice or putting out rubber mats would have been a major help.

The hotel is a bit out of the way and there wasn’t much snow (not the hotels fault) but it made the “ski in ski out” hard work and there ended up being a lot of carrying skis uphill. It’s not the easiest hotel to get into either with steps up to the reception . The rooms are very small and not much storage. Spa very small. Didn’t use the one at the Balcons so can’t comment on that.

We had a really good stay. I forgot to reserve parking, so ended up using the far away P3, but with the shuttle bus back to town this was not a problem. The kitchen in the appartment 751 misses a few cooking utensils that i would call normal... a garlic press a grater and a cheese slice.... also there was only 1 saucepan lid. But otherwise it was a good kitchen. Another nice touch would be to include salt and pepper, as most places i stay always have these resident.

Ski out, yes right outside the skilockers. Ski in you need to cross the street and go down the long stairs to reach the ski lockers. Good place but please keep it all clean. When we arrived the hallway was a mess. Rooms seemed tidy, but on top of the wooden beams of the roof, there was a lot of dust. We stayed on the fifth floor. After 1 hour laptop and ceramic plate covered with dust, then it is not clean! For a place like this, this should be better! Advertised with fireplace, not present.

Val Thorens is an excellent resort for access to many miles of excellent pistes and reliable snow, even late in the season. Les Balcons Platinum provide high quality, spacious family accommodation with ski out and almost ski-in access. The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent with jacuzzi baths and a separate shower. An excellent spa with sauna, steam and jacuzzi for adults provides an excellent space to relax after a day on the slopes. Shame the seating is so uncomfortable, old and in need of renewal. However, despite this we had a great week and will be back.

Les Balcons Platinum provided a good sized, modern, clean and comfortable room with great views. It suited our family of 4 well. The Platinum spa was great but despite being quiet ran out of towels every evening. The reception area was not as welcoming as it should be - the fire was never lit and nothing done to create atmosphere. This was disappointing but not detracting from the high quality of the room and location.

A group of about 18 of us stayed here for a week in January and couldn’t really fault it. ||We had 2 apartments both were spacious, well equipped and comfortable. ||Used both of the spa’s during the week, the pool and jacuzzis where great after a long day of skiing. ||You can ski in and out although the red run back in is quite steep and did tend to get a bit icy so maybe not ideal for beginners, although the alternative walk to and from the slopes also wasn’t too bad||Would definitely like to head back one day.
